Sekisui Plastics has licensed its world-class plastic foaming technology, with expectations for its widespread use in overseas countries. Sekisui EPS is spherical translucent beads of polystyrene cotaining a low boiling hydrocarbon as blowing agent, and does not contain any CFCs. Sekisui EPS is produced according to high quality control standards.

When heated above the softening point of the polystyrene resin, Sekisui EPS will expand to more than 50 times its original volume, depending on the grade selected.

When treated with steam in a preshaped mould a lightweight low cost rigid polystyrene foam product will be produced.

Safety and Handling
Sekisui EPS contains a hydrocarbon blowing agent which is flammable. Flammable concentrations of vapour may occur when opening a container. Adequate ventilation must be provided in storage and processing areas and all possible sources of naked flames, sparks, welding, smoking, etc, must be eliminated. Spillage on the floor will make it slippery and proper housekeeping is recommended.

Storage
Processing characteristics will change with storage age. It is recommended to store in cool place, and process Sekisui EPS within 30 days of delivery.
